Exhaled Nitric Oxide Measurement (FeNO)

The FeNO test (Fractional exhaled Nitric Oxide) is a non-invasive method for detecting airway inflammation, commonly seen in allergic asthma. It can often be performed in children as young as 5 years old.

During the test, the child exhales slowly into a machine that measures nitric oxide levels in the breath. To improve cooperation and comfort, our equipment includes a cartoon animation program that turns the procedure into a game. The test requires a controlled exhalation lasting just a few seconds.

FeNO is useful not only for diagnosing asthma, but also for monitoring inflammation, evaluating treatment response, and adjusting medication. In children with asthma, this test is often repeated during follow-up.
